BEATLES UK - Sgt Pepper's Mono, mispress sleeve.
PMC 7027 – Original Black and Yellow Parlophone label.
A UK pressing in 100% original condition featuring a very unusual mispressed sleeve.
The sleeve features a very rare misprint, one that I have not seen or heard of before. As you open the sleeve, on the pictures of Paul and George it looks like to me that the text on the rear of the sleeve, ie the EMI box and the Parlophone box text and some of the songs lyrics have somehow been printed onto the inner yellow part of the sleeve !. The text also appears to be printed back to front !. I don’t see how this could have happened !. This ‘out of place’ text is printed UNDER the laminate.
CONDITION:
THE MAIN SLEEVE: is in near excellent condition, the sleeve is fully laminated. The original exposed flipbacks can be seen when the sleeve is opened. The spine is in very good condition, it is strong and clean, there is some light rubbing to the spine and some of the text has been lost. A very original clean, solid sleeve. There are NO stains, tears, splits, pen writing, stickers or sticker residue on the sleeve.
THE INSERT: the original DARK green cardboard ‘ cut-out ’ insert is present and is in excellent condition.
THE INNER SLEEVE: is in excellent condition and is the original red and white wavy pattern sleeve. There are NO tears, stains, pen writing, stickers or sticker residue. There is just a small split beginning on one of the edges of the sleeve.
THE VINYL: side one is in excellent condition, side two is in near excellent condition. The vinyl is made of the period thick, heavy vinyl and is very clean, dark and glossy.
The Matrix are: XEX 637 - 1 and XEX 638 - 1,
Mother / Stampers are: ‘ 4 A P R ’ and ‘ 7 A R M’.
THE AUDIO: is excellent, a great playing copy, with nice quiet ‘ run ins’. The record lays flat on the turntable and plays without the needle sticking or jumping.
THE LABELS: side one is in excellent condition, side two is in very good condition, there are the letters ‘ KT ’ embossed onto side two.
