Description
Here we have a rare opportunity to own The Beatles White Album; an original, mono first pressing with the VERY low number 0011759.
This is the jewel in the crown of a recently acquired collection of several rare 1950s and 1960s EPs and LPs.
I shall assume you all know what you are bidding on, so I will get straight to the relevant details.
Side 1:
Matrix XEX 709-1.
Stampers: at 3 o'clock = "3", at 9 o'clock = "H" and what looks like either "U" or an unformed "W"
Side 2:
Matrix: XEX 710-1
Stampers: at 2 o'clock = "5", at 7 o'clock = "GDG"
Side 3:
Matrix: XEX 711-1
Stampers: at 4 o'clock = "LM", at 11 o'clock = "2"
Side 4:
Matrix: XEX 712-2
Stampers: at 9 o'clock = "4", at 2 o'clock = "GDP"
The cover is in very good condition; there is slight yellowing, which is to be expected. The laminate is intact. The spine is intact save for one tiny nick.
The labels are all excellent, with minimal spindle marks
The inner sleeves are excellent.
The 4 photographs are excellent, with no pinholes or tape marks.
The poster has one 4 inch seam split, which can be seen on the photograph proivided.
I have played all 4 sides of the vinyl, and report no skips, with the bare minimum of background noise/pops/ticks. It sounds excellent to me, and retains a fine lustre.
All in all, very fine, obviously VERY well cared-for, and a rare opportunity to purchase such a low-numbered example.
