Description
Up for bidding is a superb copy of The Beatles, AKA “The White Album”, with an extremely low number you will likely never see again (no. 0006564).
MONO 1st UK press. 100% complete with original poster, records, color prints, original black inner sleeves. Original dark green Apple labels, “Sold in the UK” text, top opening gatefold cover, thick quality 1st press UK vinyl. All labels do NOT have “An EMI recording” on them, dating this a very early copy.
Matrix numbers: XEX 709-1, XEX 710-1, XEX 711-1, XEX 712-1. Mothers & stampers: 5/OM, 5/TT, 5/TL, 1/GGD. This is a very early MONO 1st pressing.
All labels are in superb condition with no visible wear; they are like new. On side 3 & 4 labels only, under bright light and examining very closely, there is a few very faint small spindle marks. The vinyl is stunning, with no scratches or marks. Under close examination with the brightest light, there are a very few of the most slight small marks. You must scrutinize the vinyl extremely closely to even see those. I hesitate to even mention this as the vinyl, all 4 sides, is as close to new and mint as you will ever see.
The album, all four sides, plays and sounds superb. There is no nasty crackle or pops, no skips, no distortions. I can detect a slight (slight!) pop on only one song – Back in The USSR. No crackle in the run-ins, with the exception of a couple songs where you can hear extremely minor crackle. This is an amazingly clean playing copy, stunning sound. Even the songs that are the toughest tests play astonishingly quiet (Blackbird, Julia).
The gatefold cover is in excellent condition, with no yellowing, no edge wear, no spine wear (fully laminated, completely intact). The cover has no cracks, only the slightest of album ring impression, only a very few of the slightest small creases, and with the very slightest of corner wear. The 0006564 number and “The Beatles” lettering are in perfect condition. The black inner sleeves are fully intact, close to perfect. The poster and pictures are in near perfect condition.
This LP was sourced in the UK by a reputable and well-established UK dealer about 5 years ago when I acquired my UK Beatles collection. I looked long and hard for a pristine copy of The Beatles, and this is it. It has not been played even once since I purchased it other than my initial play to verify condition upon purchase, and just recently once again to have one more listen to this incredible sounding UK music. There is NOTHING that sounds like an excellent condition UK 1st press Beatles album…no subsequent pressing and certainly no CD sounds like this. Due to personal circumstances, I am now selling off my prized collection of UK 1st press Beatles albums. Check my other current listings and I will be listing more, so keep an eye out.
I will ship to most locations worldwide; for other than the USA, Canada and UK please contact me first before bidding. The LP will be shipped with professional quality packaging. Contact me with any questions. Shipping and insurance at actual cost only, I make no money on shipping. Paypal only accepted.
