Description

THE BEATLES - "WHITE ALBUM" No 0173701     MATRIX : YEX 709-1/710-1/711-1/712-1   STAMPERS: 3MD/7AM and 3HR/2HG   Year: 1968 Cat: PMC 7067

  • On offer here is a well worn copy of this iconic album which plays better than the sleeve would suggest.
  • The double laminated top loading cardboard sleeve is fairly clean with wear concentrated on the spine and sleeve edges. The front still has the embossed "Beatles" and number very clearly displayed with good shine to the laminate. The spine has a couple splits to the outer which have been sellotaped and some of the laminate has flaked off the spine. The rear of the sleeve is fairly clean with  a small tear at the top. Inside the gatefold is again clean with a split at the top of one opening. The lower edges have some edgewear.   Graded GOOD+
  • The black diecut inners have both been repaired with sellotape and can only be rated GOOD.
  • The four photos are all intact with blu- tak residues on the reverse. The photos of George and Ringo  has a number of creases with slight peeling of the backing.
  • Both vinyls still have good gloss with some light marks visible.  Visually graded VG+/VG/VG-/VG- . The dark green Apple labels are in excellent condition with some spindle trails. When played there is some light noise in quiet passages and between tracks but mostly quite a pleasant listen in mono. Sides 1,3 and 4 are play rated VG- .Side 2 has two small skips in Martha and slightly more noise and so is rated GOOD+ .
  • Overall worth considering for the well displayed number alone.
  • The many photos should show enough detail but please contact me if any more information is needed.

My records are graded in accordance with Record Collector's Grading System as follows:

EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc

+ or - indicates a grading in between categories
