SOUVENIR BOOK FOR BEVERLY SILLS' FAREWELL PERFORMANCE AT NYC OPERA Oct 27, 1980
Includes “BEVERLY!” souvenir book, program, invitation and tickets
This is the elaborate souvenir book created for NYC Opera superstar Beverly Sills’ final opera performance on October 27, 1980 at the New York State Theater at Lincoln Center. The benefit evening was called “BEVERLY!” (I was the press agent for the Gala event.)
This collectors’ item also includes the program for the evening which starred Ms. Sills in "Die Fledermaus" plus guest stars including Mary Martin, Placido Domingo, Helen Hayes, Ethel Merman, Burt Reynolds, Cynthia Gregory, Bobby Short and others.
The packet also includes the invitation to the cocktail reception prior to the performance, as well as admission tickets to the cocktail party and dinner, the performance and the Gala Ball in Damrosch Park at Lincoln Center.
The souvenir book, which measures 8.5” X 11”, includes personal tributes from Leontyne Price, Carol Burnett, Johnny Carson, Dinah Shore, Sylvia Fine Kaye, Jimmy Carter, Kitty Carlisle Hart, Joel Grey, Barbara Walters, and Miss Piggy among many others. The souvenir book also includes many pages of color and Black & White photos of Ms. Sills in many of her opera roles plus a list of all her opera roles and her discography.
The book weighs 9.4 oz.
