BIG STAR - "3rd" LP - NM - AUTOGRAPHED by Alex Chilton / Jody Stephens Original PVC LP 1978
Record - NM. There are some visible pressing marks, mainly on first side, but nothing that inhibits absolutely clean play. Cover - EX+ Spine is completely legible Inner - NM

Ok. This is a weird record to sell. I have no point of reference for its value. I can't find another copy in this sort of immaculate condition that is also autographed by Alex Chilton and Jody Stephens, both. Or any autographed Big Star 3rd for that matter.
The autographs: I bought this record from a record store employee in the mid 90's. I know from the age and history of the seller, that these autographs were most likely applied at the time of the release, before the big sort of re-emergence that happened in the early 90's. I have of course checked multiple images to see that these autographs are legit. These days, it doesn't take long to find such things. I've included images from a copy of a signed "Radio City" from the time period for comparison purposes. Imitating that Alex Chilton scrawl would actually be very difficult. Plus, it's in ball point pen which is far more likely for the time. Also, who would be out there in the 70's or 80's forging Big Star autographs? Anyway, for good measure, Jody Stephens actually signed the thing again on the label!
People always say " Own a piece of pop history" and stuff like that, but i think this really is one.
Given the value of this record I'll do signed/ insured shipping. Thanks for looking.
