GRADE (COVER/RECORD): VG+/VG
NOTES: 1980 release on private Modesto, CA label. Surprised this one is not in The Archivist book, as it has some great Xian rock tracks. The title track has a menacing hard rock psych sound somewhat unusual for Xian rock - reminds me a bit of the legendary Fraction. I also really like the dreamy almost prog-like "Looking From Afar" and the drifting spacey "A New Spirit Within You". Another song "Gonna Be Changed" has a Southern rock style and sounds a lot like "Call Me the Breeze". I get some Geddy Lee vibes from some of the vocals. At least half the tracks are really good rock, and the other half are still quite listenable, including some country rock. Another plus is all tracks are original songs written by Howry.
Cover is in partial shrink with some slight corner wear where shrink has torn. The record looks VG+ at first glance, but under bright light there are some scattered little marks/scuffs on a couple tracks, some of which cause occasional mild to moderate surface noise, but no major problems. I recorded a couple tracks on it - please click link below to listen. "Looking From Afar" can be found on youtube. Highly recommended - I am only letting this copy go because I found a better condition one.

MY HIGHEST GRADE FOR AN UNSEALED RECORD IS NM (NEAR MINT) - A RECORD MUST LOOK LIKE NEW TO BE GRADED NM! AN EXC RECORD WILL SHOW ONLY SLIGHT SIGNS OF PRIOR PLAY. A VG+ IS A SOLID USED RECORD WITH MINOR VISUAL FLAWS THAT SHOULD PLAY WELL. A VG HAS MORE OBVIOUS VISUAL FLAWS BUT IS NOT TRASHED LIKE SOME SELLERS VG. RECORDS GRADED VG- OR WORSE WILL OFTEN PLAY MUCH BETTER THAN THEY LOOK.
