BLACK SABBATH - " MASTER OF REALITY " , Vertigo Records Ltd. (6360 050) Stereo, 1971.
Very rare, 1971, English 1st issue (early pressing), LP issue of the classic Sabbath album.
Featuring the all-important box sleeve and Vertigo swirl label and inner sleeve.
Note; the very first copies of this first issue to leave the press came with a poster as well. This is not one of those... but looking on popsike.com, copies of this record with the poster (in perfect condition, admittedly) regularly sell for around £700-£900, with one mint example peaking at £1120 in 2011 (http://www.popsike.com/BLACK-SABBATH-MASTER-OF-REALITY-LP-UK-1971-SWIRL-MINT/250763289830.html). You do have to ask yourself, how much a poster is really worth to you!

English issue and pressing.
Professionally cleaned on my Moth record cleaning machine and then put in a fresh new poly-lined inner sleeve (the original inner sleeve has also been retained and included in the auction - see photo)
CONDITION:
VINYL = EX- (No deep scratches, no groove damage, no distortion, just a few light spindle trails, etc. Under a bright grading lamp I can make out a couple of more obvious but extremely shallow marks and a few other faint scuffs just visible on the vinyl's surface - although none of these correspond directly to any audible defects. It generally plays pretty well, but there is some very faint occasional surface noise audible during the run-in, between tracks. As the record played, I did hear the odd faint click or crackle in the background from time to time, but generally once the music kicks in that's all you can hear.
Overall, although it is not quite perfect and I realise this will affect the value, it is by no means ruined by these minor imperfections and would still make a good honest copy for someone to play and enjoy - perfect copies of this LP exchange hands for a lot of money these days and although this is not one of those museum pieces, it is still a very serviceable copy that would be great for somebody out there to play and enjoy as it was originally intented.
Sadly, the original owner has written his name on the label in blue pen - as per previously mentioned flaws, it will chip away at the value. But of course, it can't affect how it sounds so this LP would definitely better suit someone who wants it to listen to the great music than covet an object.
Note: for the purposes of this listing I have tested this LP on my Linn LP12 Sondek turntable - generally this is quite a critical test, but I must point out that I cannot guarantee exactly how this LP will sound on your turntable - common sense for most... but then this is ebay!!!)
SLEEVE = V.G. (No rips, tears, big damage, etc. But had to be marked down for the box being squashed flat (as they nearly always are), quite a few small creases, some delamination and because the previous owner has also written his name inside the sleeve in blue pen - see photos for further clarification)
