Description

You are bidding on what is possibly a one of a kind item. This is an acetate from Blind Melons legendary Sippin Time sessions recorded in 1991 before the release of their Self Titled debut that they recorded with with longtime Neil Young producer David Briggs.

From their official Bio: “Although Blind Melon only had a limited repertoire of songs at the time, they managed to convince Capitol that they had a healthy backlog of compositions, and were signed in 1991. The band set out shortly thereafter to work on an EP, produced by longtime Neil Young producer David Briggs and titled The Sippin' Time Sessions. But when the end results came out surprisingly slick and doctored, the project was shelved.”

This is the acetate from that shelved session mastered at Bernie Grundman. It is in an official Bernie Grundman Mastering jacket with Blind Melon and the date (8-2-91) handwritten on the front(not sure whose handwriting). This acetate was originally obtained from a relative of David Briggs. I have no idea how many of these were made, and since it is an acetate it is possible this is the only one.

The vinyl itself is in EX+ condition and the sleeve is in EX condition.

This is the only place I have ever heard these recordings, they have never been released, not even on Nico.

Please feel free to ask any questions. It was hard to get a great picture of the labels cause of lighting by they are generic Bernie Grundman labels with typed writing on them.

The tracklist as a follows:

Side A:
1. Dear Ole Dad
2. Soul One
3. Tones Of Home

Side B:
1. Seed To A Tree
2. Mother

I have sold many many records on ebay of the years including very rare and expensive ones. Due to the rarity of this item, I would much rather run this as a fixed price/or best offer auction. Also, the shipping calculator on here is terrible and always either is way too high or way too low so pay no attention to what it says the shipping price will be. Once someone wins the auction, we will figure out the exact cost of shipping and insurance to your location by whatever method of shipping you choose and will charge you that amount, there are no handling fees whatsoever.

Good luck!
