Recorded in New York on the 25th of November,1956 and released in early 1957 this is Mobley's stunning debut on Blue Note. Musicians are Donald Byrd (trumpet),Lee Morgan (trumpet),Hank Mobley (tenor sax),Horace Silver (piano),Paul Chambers (bass) and Charlie Persip (drums).Four tracks are "Touch And Go", "Double Whammy", "Barrel Of Funk", "Mobleymania", all composed by Mobley.
Very clean label 161 Lexington Ave. NYC address and "RVG" in the dead wax.
Non-Deep Groove version. Ultra clean jacket and record are in VG +++ to NM condition! A few light scuffs or possible needle drops on cut 1, side 2 (Barrel of Funk).
Back of jacket is so white it looks new … Great, non-blemished Francis Wolff and Reid Miles cover …
Cleanest copy of this record I’ve seen … I believe I’m the 2nd owner … It’s not seen a lot of time on a turntable. Low reserve.
