Description
BOB DYLAN 1st UK Pressing 1963 THE FREEWHEELIN' CBS BPG 62193 MONO
This is the first UK MONO pressing of Bob's second album from 1963. CBS textured orange label with number BPG 62193 and 33 (rather than 33 1/3). Flipback sleeve without 'CBS Records' on it. This all denotes a first UK pressing.
And it's in brilliant condition. I doubt you'll find another sleeve in better condition. I rate it as EX+.
Condition
Record VG+
Visually, it looks bright and shiny black with no marks. Under a very bright LED light there are just a few wispy lines here and there but nothing feelable.
When played, it sounds pure and true with every detail. There is, in the time-honoured fashion, some light background noise. Side One Track 6 has four very light clicks at the very beginning. Others might call it an EX but I prefer to be cautious.
Cover/Sleeve EX+
Just wonderful. A few tiny creases in the laminate near the spine on the front cover, otherwise like new. If the front is brilliant, I have never seen a CBS back cover as well-preserved as this! Stunning.
The Spine EX+
Perfect. No creases or bumps or fading or anything negative at all! Looks new
Labels EX+
Both look great. A few light spindle marks can be seen under a very bright LED light.
Plain white inner sleeve
I use ‘Record Collector’ magazine gradings.
