Description

BOB DYLAN - FIRST ALBUM 1962 - STEREO - CS 8579

SUPER CLEAN !  First Pressing  -  6 EYE ORIGINAL COLUMBIA LABEL

Side 1 -  MATRIX- Machine Stamped XSM 55621-1E  then on the opposite side of the dead wax is what looks like "C11"(?)

Side 2 -  MATRIX- Machine Stamped "XSM 55622-1F then on the opposite side of the dead wax is what looks like "B111"(?)

It also has the "a New Star on Columbia Records" Sticker on front cover

AND, to top it all off, IT IS A PROMOTIONAL COPY !!  The back cover has a nice bold "demonstration-not for sale" rubber stamping.  The side 1 record label has a clean perfectly affixed paper promo sticker.  Both Labels are perfectly clean, no spindle marks anywhere.  The vinyl, though slightly scuffed, retains it's original sheen and plays beautifully.  The cover shows almost no sign of use, no split seams or edge wear.  This record was bought new and then put on a shelf for 45 years, it is TRULY amazingly beautiful.

There are a couple of finger prints on the record that do not affect it, but because the surfaces of this record are so originally pristine we did not want to try cleaning it in the average way.  We do not have access to that level of professional record cleaning.

We do auctions FOR REAL.

We start at 99 cents and then let YOU do the rest.

NEVER A RESERVE - ALWAYS the BEST STUFF !!!

Hello and sorry for my bad English and so many questions.  Please explain me the the slightly scuffs, are these many and great? Are these paper scuffs, hairlines, stains (wear) or scratches? Are there many fingerprints on both sides and do you really think that it is no problem to clean it? Has it the original Innersleeve? Please let me know. Thanks very much!

Yes, it has the original plain inner sleeve. The scuffs are surface, not deep. In any other listing we would not be so concerned! It is hard to describe, but here goes....

Side one has a few very light paper scuffs, anywhere there is one, we would play the record, and there is no issue with playback. IN FACT, I was impressed with it's sound, it is crisp and warm and dynamic as can be! on a good turntable...it would be great. We know this is a rare record and are doing our best to be very picky about describing the condition. It really does have the original sheen due to being played so little. Side two has about the same story, but there are 2 small scuffs one at the end of track 2 into track 3 and one in track 3. There is a moment in track 3 (house of the rising sun) when you can hear a VERY faint popping sound. But that is all I can come up with. I do not really see fingerprints persay, that was malcolms quote.  I don't disagree, but it's being overly picky.. After a good cleaning, none of these may even be a issue at all!! NO stains, no scratches, mainly surface scuffing. Like fine art must be cleaned properly by the pros, we didn't want to clean this ourselves because we do not have access to professional equipment.  This needs to be cleaned the right way, not by me with a rag!!  thx!

UPDATE UPDATE !!!!   One of our local customers called us to say "I have a professional cleaner!!"  He was quite insistant, so we allowed him to clean this record and it helped ALOT!!  There are no prints or smudges at all, the few very light scuffs are even lighter, and the sound quality actually improved!!

The scuffs are only visible in the right light, and I must say again that we are being OVERLY PICKY in describing this, just because we know it matters.  One man's near mint is another man's very good!  Depends on your standards, our standards are HIGH!!
