Bob Dylan : Blood On The Tracks A2/B2 1st Press

This first pressing is from the collection that I purchased recently that has been so well preserved down the years.  Such is their quality there is no need to describe each track in detail as I generally do.  However, I will still listen to every track in full so as to provide a 'correct' grading and will state any imperfections even if minor.

This album plays with stunning clarity and definition for the majority.  There are two minor clicks on S1 and some light background ticks on S2 that have no affect on the audio.  This is a record that has hardly been played in my opinion.

Shipping costs to the US have increased recently so please wait for the invoice.  As an example I recently sent 3 LPs via tracked shipping and this cost just over £34.00 - packaging costs not included!

Play grading

S1 is stunning!  Starting with 'Tangled Up In Blue' the audio could not be any better.  The run in grooves have no 'background' and this is an indication of things to come!  The acoustic intro is 'as new' and it continues to play in the same precise way to the final note.  This is Mint I have no hesitation in saying.  The super quiet intro on 'Simple Twist Of Fate' is so clean with only a couple of barely audible dust ticks and the remainder is equally as good.  The only 'interference' on the rest of the side are two very light clicks on the 'Idiot Wind' intro.  However, I am sure this could be removed as they are caused by one of those tiny white 'specks' you often find on vinyl.  Unfortunately my nails are too short!  Other than that this long track plays with perfect precision with no underlying static as per the other tracks.

S2 begins with a sublime rendition of 'Meet In The Morning'.  The clarity is so good for a 46 year old record and the only 'background' is a handful of very light static ticks that you could easily miss.  'Lily, Rosemary And The Jack Of Hearts' is close to perfect with only a couple of minor ticks but 99% is 'as new' without question, the clarity and depth of the audio is sensational!  'If You See Her, Say Hello' has some very light background ticks here and there but honestly they are so quiet and totally non-intrusive in my opinion, they are more like dust ticks.  The final two tracks play with great clarity and depth - just 4/5 very light background ticks on 'Buckets Of Rain' which again are not intrusive.  Overall this first pressing plays to a wonderful standard with a sonic quality you rarely find today.

Visual grading

The vinyl still has a lovely glossy sheen with no scratches.  S1 is stunning with only a couple of tiny 'specks' and whilst S2 does have one long hairline it is very faint and not immediately obvious.  It also has a couple of faint scuff hairlines which have no affect on the audio.  The run out grooves and labels are in perfect condition - no spindle wear at all.

The Cover & Inner

The cover is in excellent condition overall with only one obvious area of wear.  This is by the lower right corner where there is a small split on the bottom edge and some rubbing also.  Apart from that it is very clean with and the spine is as close to perfect as could be.  The opening edge has minimal handling wear and the front and back cover are very clean with no marking.  The card inner is in fantastic order with no side splits or tears, no marking or creasing, just one tiny corner rub.
