Description
Bob Dylan: “Blood on the Tracksâ€
Original 1st Japan pressing (1975)
CBS/Sony Label: SOPO-20
The “All Music Guide†(www.allmusic.com) shows the release date as January 17th, 1975. CBS/Sony in Japan must have expected an earlier release, the labels on this record say 1974! You can’t get an earlier pressing/release than this!
If you collect top condition 1st issues of the greatest albums from the classic rock era, this is a record that belongs in your collection.
(please see condition details below)
Please Note the "Buy it Now" price of $149.99 (which will disappear if an opening bid is placed) - Several of my recent auctions have finished above my original "Buy it Now" price offer. If this is an album you want, it's something to consider.

Inner Sleeve Condition
Traditional Japanese “U†shaped poly-plastic inner sleeve is barely even wrinkled, like-new condition.
Lyric Insert and Obi Condition
6 panel fold-out lyric sheet has no tears, folds, wrinkles or writing, looks like it has never been outside of the cover, M-. Obi is completely intact and in great shape, M-.
Cover Condition
A beautiful example of this 31 year old cover, in VG++ condition. Straight corners, no writing, NO edge wear (thanks to proper storage!) top or bottom, but beginning of a seam split appearing on the spine (hence VG+). It is not frayed or “openâ€, it’s just a hairline. Easily repairable.
Record Condition
Just 1 tiny spindle mark on Side 1 label, with just 2 very light spindle marks on the side 2 label, barely visible against the white background even when the record is held at an angle in bright light. The Japanese virgin vinyl playing surfaces are pristine, showing no marks, an incredible example. With so many quiet, acoustic passages on this album, the music really benefits from the super-quiet Japanese vinyl. This example plays beautifully, a superb M- example!
Always stored properly in a heavy outer plastic protective cover, a beautiful example of an increasingly rare Bob Dylan album…
31 years old now…
…and definitely a required album for any Bob Dylan fan, a rare original 1st issue example and a complete package including lyric insert and Obi!

AMG Review (5 Stars)
Following on the heels of an album where he repudiated his past with his greatest backing band, Blood on the Tracks finds Bob Dylan, in a way, retreating to the past, recording a largely quiet, acoustic-based album. But this is hardly nostalgia — this is the sound of an artist returning to his strengths, what feels most familiar, as he accepts a traumatic situation, namely the breakdown of his marriage. This is an album alternately bitter, sorrowful, regretful, and peaceful, easily the closest he ever came to wearing his emotions on his sleeve. That's not to say that it's an explicitly confessional record, since many songs are riddles or allegories, yet the warmth of the music makes it feel that way. The original version of the album was even quieter — first takes of "Idiot Wind" and "Tangled Up in Blue," available on The Bootleg Series, Vols. 1-3, are hushed and quiet (excised verses are quoted in the liner notes, but not heard on the record) — but Blood on the Tracks remains an intimate, revealing affair since these harsher takes let his anger surface the way his sadness does elsewhere. As such, it's an affecting, unbearably poignant record, not because it's a glimpse into his soul, but because the songs are remarkably clear-eyed and sentimental, lovely and melancholy at once. And, in a way, it's best that he was backed with studio musicians here, since the professional, understated backing lets the songs and emotion stand at the forefront. Dylan made albums more influential than this, but he never made one better. - by Stephen Thomas Erlewine

I do not use eBay's "Check Out" service, so please wait for me to contact you after the auction is complete.
Packaging:
You will see from my eBay feedback that I package very securely. Records are removed from jackets to prevent seam-splits, records and covers are placed inside re-sealable plastic outer protective covers, and "sandwiched" between two pieces of cardboard cut to a size larger than the album cover in order to protect the cover from corner-dings during shipping.
I have not had any problems with damaged records as a result of my own packaging, but I do recommend Insurance on the more expensive items, I cannot be held responsible for what happens to the package after it leaves my possession.
Shipping to the U.S.
Priority shipping for a package weighing anywhere from 2lbs. to 3lbs. is $5.00 to $9.00 depending on your location. I do not charge a "Handling" fee, shipping calculations will be made using the USPS website (http://postcalc.usps.gov/) based on your Zip code.
Payment for U.S. Buyers:
Money Orders are preferred (no checks). Paypal is accepted. I do not use eBay's "Check Out" service, so please wait for me to contact you after the auction is complete. Once I have the winning bidder's address information I will calculate exact shipping using the USPS website (http://postcalc.usps.gov/) and send you a total including (optional but recommended) Insurance and Priority Shipping to your destination.
International Shipping:
I have made many friends and many new record buying contacts around the world through these auctions, it is my pleasure to make these records available to everyone who loves music and who is interested in purchasing quality record Lp's. I have plenty of experience shipping record Lp's internationally. Once I have the winning bidder's address information, I will calculate exact shipping using the USPS website (http://postcalc.usps.gov/)
Payment for International Buyers:
For Buyers from outside the U.S., please use Paypal, and please pay in U.S. dollars. Once I have your address, I will send you a total including Insurance and Airmail Shipping to your destination.
From my previous international shipping experience, I understand that some people prefer to go without Insurance, have the package declared as a “giftâ€, and would like a low "Declared Value" to avoid import duties/taxes. That's fine, but at your own risk, I cannot be responsible for what happens to the package after it leaves my possession.
Any winning bidder is welcome to combine multiple items to save on shipping.
Thanks very much for looking, if you have any questions or comments please feel free to contact me, I look forward to hearing from you.
Best regards,
Scott
