USA Release date: January 1973. Recording dates: September - November 1972.
On offer here is a VERY RARE original US ISLAND issue of the fifth album by Jamaican REGGAE band, THE WAILERS. “Catch a Fire” features some excellent Jamaican roots rock reggae tunes by BOB MARLEY’s outfit, including the classics “Concrete Jungle” and “Stir It Up”. This particular copy comes with its original and highly collectable zippo lighter cover.

VG(+) beautiful shiny appearance: very early signs of ring-wear (bottom), creasing & handling wear is quite evident although still highly acceptable, ex-ABC radio library copy (writing & label taped onto top section of back cover). Pop rivet where the hinge should be is missing.
Record:
visual: beautiful glossy sheen—insignificant hairlines & few very light surface scuffs on side 1 (side 1: VG++, side 2: EX) (seen under strong light).
audible: sounds great despite some minor underlying surface noise (side 1: VG to VG++, tracks 1&2 have minor underlying crackle and track 4 has minor background ticks as stylus passes over a light surface scratch / side 2: VG++ to EX). Despite the flaws, this album is still A HIGHLY ENJOYABLE LISTENING EXPERIENCE!
