Bob Wallis, The Storyville Jazzmen (10" LP)
(Ginger Baker’s first ever recording session)

Robert Wallis (3 June 1934 - 10 January 1991) was a British jazz musician, who had a handful of chart success in the early 1960s, during the UK traditional jazz boom. Wallis joined up with Hugh Rainey's All Stars (Ginger Baker was their drummer at the time) and shortly afterwards the band changed its name to The Storyville Jazz Band, fronted by Wallis. In 1959 the band recorded an album for Top Rank Records, Everybody Loves Saturday Night. It peaked at No. 20 in the UK Albums Chart in June 1960.

The album is on 77 Records, 77 LP/3. Matrix side one: DA V LP 48 (stamped, under the label) RBW21 (written). Matrix side two: DA V LP 49 (stamped) RBW22 (written).
Released in 1957. UK pressing. Mono. Limited Edition.

Vinyl side 1: good (has a few marks and plays with some background crackle and the odd click here and there but nothing that really spoils your enjoyment of the music, plays with no jumps or sticks).
Vinyl side 2: good (has a few marks and plays with some background crackle and the odd click here and there but nothing that really spoils your enjoyment of the music, plays with no jumps or sticks).
Cover (matt, flip-back): fair (splits at bottom of spine and bottom edge right, small tears at opening edge, a few creases here and there, aging/discolouring, a bit rough looking!).
I have tried to give my honest opinion as to the condition. I will give a complete refund to the buyer if they are not happy with the record.

RECORD COLLECTOR GRADING SYSTEM:
MINT: I very rarely use the mint grade. Only records that are still sealed or records that even under the strongest of lights are completely unmarked. Also covers that are unmarked/uncreased in any way and still look brand new.
EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is no lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.
FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.
POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
