Description
Very nice copy of the 1943 compilation of classic 1930s recordings by the Boswell Sisters, on Brunswick Collectors' Series Four-78 album set no. B-1003. This is maybe the rarest of all the Brunswick Collectors' a series sets. Absolutely wonderful collection of rare and precious sides by the Sisters, including as follows:
When I Take My Sugar to Tea (with both Dorsey Brothers and Eddie Lang) b/w Wha'd You Do To Me? (with the Dorsey Brothers)
Roll On, Mississippi, Roll On (with the Dorseys, Eddie Lang and Joe Venuti) b/w Shout, Sister, Shout!
Shine On, Harvest Moon (Dorseys) b/w Heebie Jeebies (Dorseys and Eddie Lang)
River, Stay 'Way From My Door (Dorseys, Venturi, Lang) b/w It's the Girl (same)
All four records are in lovely condition. There are some light scuffs on some, and a little general wear, but it is mostly superficial and they all play just beautifully. No deep scratches, dings, cracks, chips, or groove wear. They play clearly and crisply, with no distortion and beautiful sound. The cover has some wear, with some scuffs and marks on the velvet covering, and some edge and corner wear, but the spine is intact and the binding is holding nicely. This is a truly beautiful copy.
