BLUE BRAZIL - Other than the UK and the United States, Brazil has probably the most visible influence on the international music scene in the last 50 years, with American musicians especially - from Stan Getz and Eydie Gorme through to David Byrne and Paul Simon on through to the Beastie Boys all running south of the border at various times I their lives.

To many the most visible Brazilian records will be Astrud Gilberto singing “Girl From Ipanema” a great record which she recorded with her then husband Joao, and Stan Getz, which dragged a ton of people into either jazz or Brazilian music or both. Joao was one of the great composers from the first wave of Bossa Nova alongside Edu Lobo and Marcos Valle. More were to follow such as these included in the BLUE BRAZIL
