Description
1959 Blue Note Records 1598, this is an original mono pressing of the hard to find Bud Powell LP "Time Waits". This pressing has the "47 west 63rd NYC" address notation, with "RVG" and the infamous "ear" symbol stampoed in the dead wax. There is also a "deep groove" indentation underneath both lables with NO registry "R" underneath the "E". Laminated cover is VG+/VG++, with vibrant colors and sharp graphics. There is minor laminate peel by the mouth of the jacket, along with a 2" middle spine split and a 1" area of lower spine wear. There is minor discoloration (browning) on back cover along with some pen written notations from the previous owner. Vinyl is strong VG+, still shiny with some visible surface marks - but no feelable scratches - on either side. As with many Blue Note LP's from this era, fidelity is very good, with the music just overpowering. There is a slight background crackle during quieter interludes and the occasional pop, but no skips or repeats. Labels show slight hints of spindle wear, but are also crisp and vibrant.
