Description
Original 1950s Crickets (with Buddy Holly) LP entitled, "The 'Chirping' Crickets." This is on the Brunswick label BL 54038 (original, first pressing with black and silver 'deep groove' labels). This also has the original textured front cover design!! Grading is as follows:
The vinyl is in exceptionally clean VG+ condition with full gloss and it plays quite nicely!! No deep marks or scratches at all, minimal-to-no surface noise present, and only the occasional quick little 'pop' here and there... Very quiet surface in between the songs as well. I played both sides of this record with a regular Stanton stylus (tracked at 1.5 grams). Several very light spindle marks on each label, but no nicks or gouges etc. Record is housed in a newer, polylined/antistatic sleeve.
The cover is a very sharp, strict VG+ also and it really looks great overall!! There is a 4.5-inch split in the upper-right corner along the top seam edge, a 1.5-inch split in the lower-right corner of the bottom seam edge (both of which could possibly be repaired with a little glue, but I will leave that up to the buyer to decide...), and one very tiny little 'pressure wrinkle' in the lower-right corner of the back side only as well. The spine is perfect!! The front and back look great otherwise with no tears, no creases, no writing, no stains, no cutout holes, no delete marks, etc.
Overall, a very well-preserved example of the legendary, early Rock LP!!
***International (non-U.S.) buyers please note that because this LP is very fragile, it will be shipped double-boxed by Priority Mail only.***

My vinyl and cover/sleeve gradings are as follows:
MINT: I do not use this grade except for sealed/unopened items.
NEAR MINT or MINT MINUS: Vinyl looks basically brand new, untouched, unplayed or nearly unplayed. Cover looks pretty much as new with no real flaws to speak of. This is basically how the item would have looked when it was new from the factory.
VG++: Very close to M-, with vinyl showing only the very slightest, most subtle signs of any past handling or play. Cover may show just the barest hint of wear from age, but nothing at all serious or detracting.
VG+: Vinyl shows some subtle signs that it was played in the past, but was generally well taken care of. Cover shows only some minor signs of age or wear, but nothing too detracting.
VG: Vinyl is beginning to show more obvious signs of past handling and play but still has strong sound quality overall. Cover is beginning to show more signs of age and wear, but is fully intact and still displays very well overall.
GOOD: Vinyl has very obvious signs of wear from over the years, but still plays strongly and enjoyably enough. Cover has obvious wear and tear from age, but is intact and still displayable.
***My very good and good records are very good and good, not bad and even worse! I also do not use the EX (excellent) grading at all.***
FAIR: Record wasn’t properly cared for in the past and very clearly shows it, but it is still playable and should be enjoyable enough for some. I rarely offer records in this condition.
