Description
BUDDY LUCAS
1954 Groove blues
Buddy Lucas cut a whoppin’ load of blues records. His earliest are on Jubilee in 1951 where he cut six of ‘em, taking him up to 1953 where he jumped over to RCA for another load of titles. While there – they also put him onto their new R&B subsidiary Groove Records. That’s where this single finds him in 1954.
The songs here are “No Help” and “I Need Help.” Buddy does the vocal on one side and it’s Almeta Stewart who sings the vocal on the flip.
From Groove he would hop thru a ton of other labels, including Savoy, Bell, Luniverse, Gone, Carlton, Vim, Pioneer, Tru Sound, Caprice and Lawn.
