RARE UK 'WALLS ICE CREAM/APPLE RECORDS' PROMOTIONAL FOUR TRACK VINYL EP, DISTINCT WALLS ICE CREAM LOGO FEATURES ON THE CUSTOM APPLE LABEL – HIGHLY COLLECTABLE UK APPLE VARIANT – EXCEPTIONAL CONDITION LABELS, STUNNING UNPLAYED DISC!!
Featuring FOUR Substantial Apple recording artists, The Iveys with 'Storm in a Teacup', James Taylor with 'Something's Wrong', Jackie Lomax with 'Little Yellow Pill' and Mary Hopkin with 'Pebble and the Man'.
This RARE and ORIGINAL UK **PROMOTIONAL** FOUR Track Vinyl EP was issued by APPLE Records UK in July 1969, featuring a promotion with the long established UK company WALLS ICE CREAM.
The track 'Storm in a Teacup' was produced by Mal Evans, 'Something's Wrong' was produced by Peter Asher, 'Little Yellow Pill' was produced by George Harrison, and 'Pebble and The Man' was produced by Paul McCartney. All four credits appear on both record labels.
The Promotional EP is on the traditional Dark Green Apple label with 'Sold in UK…' label text and displays the Official and DISTINCT Walls Ice Cream Logo on both sides of the record labels. Both sides of the record labels are in SUPER IMPRESSIVE **Mint** condition – the labels look NEW - both sides are BRIGHT, UNFADED AND UNWORN, with NO centre spindle marks.
The side 1 official stamped matrix is CT1A-2, side 2 matrix CT1B-2.
Side 1 stampers: '1 A. Side 2: 1 P, there is also an embossed KJT code on side two record label.
Derek Taylor expressed his reservations about this commercial tie-in with Ice Cream manufacturers Walls. This Promotional EP was available for 6/6d (32 ½ pence after decimalisation) to buyers of Walls' Top Ten and Big Wiz ice creams. The sleeve was Apple's FIRST 7 inch picture sleeve.
Both sides of the vinyl disc are in STUNNING **Mint** condition, the vinyl disc is in as new condition, and i can confirm that this disc has never been played.
The glossy laminated picture sleeve is in the best condition that i have seen for many years, it is in STUNNING **Mint Minus** condition, the sleeve looks new, with the exception of mild record impression to the front, the reverse of the sleeve is stunning.
Although this disc has not previously been played, i have carefully played it once, and i can confirm that the play quality is superb through all four tracks.
