Beatles 45 My Bonnie B-Side 1 Line Title, LP Reference, SCARCE Hill And Range EX!

I can’t test-play vinyl at the minute, so with that said…

Not many collectors are aware that west coast first pressing labels erroneously credited the B-side song, “The Saints” to “Hill and Range” publishing.  (Perry Cox’ price guides accidentally state that the error is on the Side 1 label, but it’s the Side 2 label.  See compere photos.)

The error was very quickly caught and corrected, changing the publishing credits to being in the public domain.  The P.D. credits on both labels are everywhere.  The “Hill and Range” copies will drive you mad if you try to find one.  Other differences between the east coast and west coast labels exist.  Here are the other differences for easier first-glance identifiers:

**The M-G-M logo is larger than east coast copies.

**East coast text has “My Bonnie” in bold letters, and “The Beatles” in smaller font.  This copy reverses that.

**East coast copies don’t reference the album by catalogue number.  This copy does.

**East coast Side 2 labels have the parenthetical expression under the song’s title.  This copy squeezes it all onto one line.

**Both east and west coast copies list “The Saints” as being in the public domain.  This is the much, MUCH scarcer first label, which erroneously credits the music publishing to “Hill and Range,” which accounts for the large difference in price in the price guides.

Vinyl: EX/EX.  Both sides have at least 90% original shine, with just a few light lines per side.  Light to moderate lip warp.  VERY nice copy.

Plates: 64XY-326/64XY-327.

Labels: NM/NM.  Many of these black labels suffer from pretty bad ringwear.  These look almost brand new!

Sleeve: Company yellow sleeve is a very nice VG+, NO SPLIT SEAMS.

Note:  All 45’s ship outside of their sleeves in order not to damage the sleeve during shipment. Generic plain, white sleeves and Mylar provided.

**If you’re just now becoming aware of this label variation, consider it a testament to its scarcity that collectors aren’t talking about it.

As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up.  Thanks!)
