Description
Complete & original 1st UK Mono press of The Beatles eponymous 1968 double album ‘The Beatles’ aka the White Album. Released on the 22nd November 1968, this 1st pressing was issued with the all four sides missing “An EMI Recording” from the labels which was soon corrected on the 2nd press. All four sides have matrix numbers ending in -1 correctly denoting they were pressed from the 1st lacquers and the low mother & stamper codes show this set was very early off the press. The sleeve is an incredibly low sub-7,000 No. 0006842. This set is complete with all original parts - two delicate black inners, large foldout poster with song lyrics on the flip-side, and 4 portrait photos of the band, also including the original photo spacer used to protect the top photo, so often discarded.

Condition:Both discs are glossy and clean with light signs of use only, when viewed in both good natural light and also strong direct halogen spotlight. Both discs grade as EXCELLENT! and sit completely flat on the turntable with no warping. All tracks across the whole double album play through without issue, with that full punchy first-press audio, obviously there are no skips or sticks, repeat clicks or loud obtrusive pops with this high grade. Quiet tracks like ‘Dear Prudence’, ‘Mother Nature’s Son’, and ‘Blackbird’ which are the litmus test for the white album all play beautifully without issue. It's a great player and the audio for both discs grade EXCELLENT! The very low No. 0006842 sleeve is in great condition. It is glossy and creamy white, without ring wear, light discolouration at the side, fully readable spine with some wear/flaking, EXCELLENT-! The set is complete with both original black inners that remarkably do not have any splits, EXCELLENT! All four photos are NEAR MINT! plus original rare photo spacer. The large fold out lyrics poster has no tears, pen, stains, tape or pin marks, EXCELLENT PLUS! A complete full set 1st UK mono press of a Beatles classic with remarkably low sleeve, No. 6842!
