Description

THE BEATLES - 'BEATLES FIRST!'

1964 GERMAN 1st PRESSING LP

We have just been commissioned to sell a large and important private collection of UK Beatles records. The majority of listings presented this week are from that collection, with more to follow over the coming weeks. The collection contains some of the rarest UK pressed discs which are unlikely to come onto the open market again in the forseeable future.

This superb sounding German mono pressing dates from April 1964 and is on the red Polydor label: 46 432

This copy was most likely imported into the UK at the time for demonstration purposes as it bear a 'Sample Record - Not For Sale' sticker on the side 1 label.

Matrix numbers: 4632 A & 4632 B

'Made in Germany' is also machine stamped in each run-out.

Disc weight: 158g

Housed within a German printed glossy card cover complete with its original poly-lined inner-sleeve.

CONDITION

Disc

Labels: MINT

A perfect pair with no marks or wear to or around either centre hole.

Visual: MINT

Pristine playing surfaces which are totally unmarked in strong daylight AND directly beneath my unforgiving halogen desk lamp. You won't find better.

Play: NEAR MINT

Incredible mono sound quality from the original German master-tapes. For example, the bass on 'Cry For A Shadow' is truly amazing - deep and rich and superior that on any other pressing or format I have experienced. This is without doubt the best sounding source for all these superbly-recorded gems and will not disappoint. Graded a shade under 'MINT' only due to one or two light 'pops', but there really is nothing to fault on this amazing sounding LP.

Cover

EXCELLENT

A strong and vibrant example which apart from some minor storagewear has little going against it. In fact, its only significant blemish is a faint water mark on the lower edge of the rear panel. All seams are fully intact and the spine is square and fully worded.

Cover

EXCELLENT

Clean & white with a hint of toning to the edges but no writing, seam splits or tears.

**PLEASE NOTE: This item is located in and will be shipped from AUSTRIA. 1st class international postage to UK addresses will be 6.50 GBP**
