Description
THE BEATLES - 'THE FIRST AND BEST OF THE BEATLES'
This extremely rare mono LP was issued in Israel in 1968 by 'Unatex' (Symphonia Ltd, Tel-Aviv) on the Polydor label: 635 056
The disc's labels bear the title 'The Beatles In Hamburg', however legal action from Apple forced change the cover title

Housed in a front laminated, bi-flipback cover showing The Beatles during the 'Strawberry Fields Forever' promo shoot of January 1967
The rear panel depicts covers of other contemporary releases by: The Doors, Jimi Hendrix & James Brown

Labels: VERY GOOD
Apart from some obvious wear to the centre holes, both are bright & unblemished.
Visual: GOOD
Both playing surfaces are clean & retain an excellent shine, however they do bear numerous light wispy hairlines consistent with the frequent play this copy has clearly received. The ofeelable mark is a 2mm scratch on track 1 of side 2. Both sides of this rare disc lie 100% flat on the turntable when playing.
Quality: GOOD
Despite having been played many times, all tracks are free from any major deterioration to the sound quality. The only major fault uncovered by my play-check were two small jumps on 'Sweet Georgia Brown' caused by the aforementioned tiny scratch.
Cover: GOOD
This fully intact example has a clean, unfaded front panel which bears light creasing & storage marks but no major issues. There is some shelfwear to the lower seam and corners which have been touched-up a little. The rear panel is lightly discoloured from age & handling. It has two small tears to the opening edge and a section of lower flipback is missing. No original inner-sleeve is present. Impossible to find in any condition.
We play-grade every record we sell on an EMT 950 transcription turntable fitted with a 'TSD 15' cartridge.
Our grading is strict & conservative grading in strong daylight & directly beneath a halogen desk lamp to UK 'RECORD COLLECTOR' standards.
