Description

THE BEATLES - 'BEATLES FOR SALE'

No 52 year old LP, least of all this title, can ever survive in perfect/Mint condition - but this example is as close as you will ever get.

This immaculate 1st UK MONO pressing of their fifth British album dates from the day of release on December 4th 1964.

It is on the yellow & black Parlophone label: PMC 1240

Matrix numbers: XEX 503-3N & XEX 504-3N

Stamper codes: 3/ADD & 2,6/RTD

Vinyl weight: 153g

The disc is housed in a pristine outer laminated, inner-flipover gatefold mono cover.

Complete with its original rice-paper lined 'Use Emitex...' inner-sleeve.

CONDITION

Disc

Labels: NEAR MINT

Both labels are clean, bright & unfaded with just a single spindle trail around each totally unworn centre hole.

Visual: NEAR MINT

Both playing surfaces shine 'as new' with no scuffs, marks or scratches in strong daylight. The disc retains all of its deep-gloss factory shine without any clouding or groove whitening issues. Only some harmless wispy paper hairlines made by the unforgiving inner-sleeve highlighted beneath halogen light prevent the ultimate 'MINT' grade. Both sides of this heavy, high-quality pressing lie 100% flat on the turntable when playing.

Sound Quality: MINT

Played just ONCE by its original owner this is simply the finest sounding example to ever grace our system.

The audio is flawless throughout and will not disappoint.

Cover: NEAR MINT

The design & construction of this cover caused them to become quickly & easily damaged and consequently very few survive in this condition. However this incredible example looks like it left the shops yesterday, let alone 52 years ago.

The front panel leaf lies perfectly flat with no curling to the edges & retains a immaculate high-gloss laminate.

There is no scratches, ringwear or indentations from storage anywhere.

The only trace of wear to the front is a small 'thumbnail' as seen above image where green goes into black

All edges of the front leaf are razor-sharp & totally unworn.

The factory-pinched spine ends are in perfect undamaged condition at both ends.

There a tiny rub to the upper right corner which is visible in the above and below images.

Both ends of the delicate hinge show no trace of any tears or stress.

The rear panel is clean and glossy with again, no damage to the spine ends.

Like the front, the rear panel bears no trace or any ringwear or even a disc impression.

All seams of the rear pocket are smooth, unstressed & unsplit.

The spine bears two small wrinkles, visible on the front leaf only, but is uncrushed and perfectly worded.

Inner-sleeve: NEAR MINT

You are unlikely to ever find a better example and we recommend this as your final upgrade.
