Description
Here is a NICE APPLE RECORDS BOX SET for the collection of the high bidder!
· THE CONCERT FOR BANGLA DESH by George Harrison & Company (Eric Clapton, Bob Dylan, Billy Preston, Leon Russell, Ringo Starr, Klaus Voorman, Badfinger, and Ravi Shankar)
· This is Apple Records STCX – 3385.
· This is a FIRST PRESSING of this APPLE RECORDS BOX SET! How do I know? Because the initial boxes have an ORANGE INTERIOR. Second pressing boxes have a white interior.
· This 3-record box set has custom Apple labels.
· This box set was issued December 20, 1971.
· The box set contains:
1) Box with attached lid that holds the contents
2) 3 Vinyl LPs
3) 3 tan inner sleeves
4) 64-page color booklet
· This concert is historic, as it was the first benefit rock concert, and it brought together many great talents to raise money to aid the starving population of Bangla Desh.
· It has many GREAT cuts on the LPs from the live concert including the following:
By George Harrison: Something, Here Comes the Sun, While My Guitar Gently Weeps, Bangladesh, My Sweet Lord, Wah-Wah, Awaiting on You All, and Beware of Darkness.
By Bob Dylan: A Hard Rain’s Gonna Fall, It Takes a Lot to Laugh/It Takes a Train to Cry, Blowin’ in the Wind, Mr. Tambourine Man, and Just Like a Woman.
By Ringo Starr: It Don’t Come Easy
By Billy Preston: That’s the Way God Planned It
One side is devoted to the music of Ravi Shankar (sitar)
· The TEXTURED BOX itself is graded NEAR MINT!! There are only a couple of very light scuffs on it and a small spot where there is a little bit of sticker residue from where a sticker was. The lid’s corners and the bottom’s corners are perfect!!! Not a split at all as is often the case with so many of these box sets.
· The VINYL (all 6 sides) is in BEAUTIFUL NEAR MINT CONDITION.
· The 3 INNER SLEEVES are included and are also NEAR MINT with NO SPLITS. These are the CORRECT TAN INNER SLEEVES for this pressing. (Sometimes sellers will mix and match vinyl, covers and sleeves to arrive at a near mint item to sell.)
· The 64-PAGE BOOKLET is NEAR MINT.
· It’s a GREAT George Harrison box set of a LEGENDARY CONCERT in WONDERFUL CONDITION to add to your collection!!
