1964/5 UK STEREO PRESSING LP
**SUPER RARE 'CROSSOVER PRESSING**
- 1st pressing labels of this LP have 'Parlophone Co. Ltd.' rims and 'Recording First Published 1964' label texts.
- 2nd pressing labels had 'Gramophone Co. Ltd.' rims and 'P1964'.
- This super rare 'crossover' pressing from early 1965 carries 'Parlophone Co. Ltd.' rims and 'P1964' , together with a dot after the PCS.
- This variant is not listed in the latest edition 'Record Collector Rare Record Price Guide 2006'
This is a copy of that rare variant crossover stereo pressing on the UK yellow and black Parlophone label PCS. 3058
Both labels carry 'Parlophone Co. Ltd.' rims, P1964, PCS. 3058 and 'Sold in UK..' texts.
The 'KT' tax/price code is visibl< stamped around the side 2 label centre.
Housed in a front laminated, flipback 'Garrod & Lofthouse' cover bearing the mid-sized stereo logo.
Complete with the original 'Use Emitex' inner sleeve.
Matrix numbers: YEX 126-1 & YEX 127-1
Stamper numbers: 2/MA & 1/RP
The disc's surfaces are bright and glossy but do bear some 'fingernail' surface scuffs and the occaisional small scratch but nothing deep or 'feelable'.
The sound is superb with just an slight wear on a few extreme peaks (e.g.the 1st chord on 'AHDN') and a few soft 'ticks' betwen tracks but no major audible faults.
There is no hiss, heavy groovewear/distortion, loud clicks/pops, jumps or repeats.
100% flat on the turntable with no dishing or warping.
A clean and strong example displaying light to moderate handling and storage wear.
The front bears a few minor creases but no 'thumbnails' and slight age discolouration to the top edge but fine corners and a sharp and unworn opening edge.
The rear panel is clean with minor discoloration on the flipbacks but no marks or writing anywhere.
All flipbacks are intact and the spine is clean and readable. There are no tears anywhere and all seams are perfect, undamaged and unsplit.
