Item Description & Condition:
’LOVE ME DO/PS I LOVE YOU’ was The Beatles FIRST UK Single.
This Love Me Do 45 has the added attraction of the MISSING RIGHT HAND BRACKET AFTER THE LENNON/McCARTNEY CREDITS ON THE SIDE 2 RECORD LABEL. Released by Parlophone, UK on 5 October 1962 - over 47 years ago - this FIRST PRESS Vinyl 45 is on the DISTINCTIVE RED Parlophone Label with Silver Printed text, with ‘The Parlophone Co Ltd....’ label rim and With ‘Recording First Published 1962’, With ‘Ardmore & Beechwood Ltd’ publishing credits. This version is **WITHOUT** the ‘Made In Gt. Britain’ label text printed to both sides of the record labels.
Both record labels are in FINE excellent condition – a Very Nice set of CLEAN record labels, FREE from any handwriting, and no more than a few light centre spider trails to either side. There is NO fading to the RICH, VIVID Red background and NO fading to the CLEAR Silver Printed Text.
Side 1 matrix: 7XCE 17144-1N and Side 2: 7XCE-17145-1N.
Side 1 stampers: PZT1/GG and Side 2: PZT1/GA.
There is a an embossed ‘PT’ tax/price code to the centre of the side 1 record label.
Both sides of the Vinyl Disc are in excellent minus condition, CLEAN, UNWORN Vinyl surfaces, showing only some extremely light surface hairlines, but NO scuffs or deep scratches.
Play Quality:
Both sides play PERFECTLY throughout BOTH tracks, without any skips or clicks.
The Vinyl 45 comes in its ORIGINAL Triangular Shaped Multi-coloured Parlophone Company Sleeve, which is in respectable condition. There is NO tearing to any of the seams, NO handwriting, only inevitable mild creasing and a record store stamp to the reverse.
Overall a HIGHLY RESPECTABLE example of this COLLECTIBLE FIRST BEATLES UK Single. Good to see the record labels FREE from the usual handwriting.
