READ THIS! These records are NOT sold for perfect sound quality. They’re sold for their scarcity and VISUAL grading. They’ve been in storage for a decade, and they WILL play with surface noise that can be addressed with D4 or a VPI cleaning.  I can’t test-play at the minute. Please don’t bid if this is a problem for you.

Beatles LP 1964 A Hard Day’s Night First Press “I Cry Instead,” Blinding Store Stock NM Vinyl!

If you weren’t old enough in 1964 (and neither was I) to buy this album brand new from the record store, then you’ve never had the proper opportunity to see a first pressing copy in this condition.  I scarcely use the grading term NM, unless it looks perfect.  If you’re a grader who happens to use the grading term, “Mint,” you can use that term to describe this vinyl.

Vinyl--- NM/NM.  Both sides shine like store stock brand new.  100% full gloss on both sides.

Plates--- Side 1 has the rarer CLB-1/ Side 2 has 1F.  Definitely first-run plates.

Cover--- VG++.  Just across the street is the Excellent grade.  Front and back are bold, very close to new-looking.  The exception is that the top and bottom seams have light shelfwear.  “All songs published by Maclen Music” paragraph is on four lines on the back cover, making this a first-printing cover.  Reissues either have just two lines, or it’s missing altogether.  NO SPLIT SEAMS.

Labels--- NM/NM.  Labels look like they were printed this morning.  NO SPINDLE MARKS.

Capitol Inner Sleeve--- VG+. Generic white inner sleeve with no die-cut hole for the labels to show is present.  Inner sleeve has wrinkles from improper insertion, but NO SPLIT SEAMS.

A generic inner sleeve will be provided, so as not to damage your original Capitol inner sleeve en route.

RIAA: None.

If you’re getting this copy for your Beatles collector for Christmas this year, be sure to take the proper precautions.  Have the smelling salts at the ready, as well as sending the cat out of the room.  When they inspect this vinyl, their right leg will involuntarily kick the cat airborne face-first into the Christmas tree, and they’re going to pass out and roll off the couch.

Heh.  YOU think I’m kidding…

As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up.  Thanks!)

Note:  All LP’s ship outside of their album covers in order not to damage the covers during shipment.

CAUTION!  There has been a startling increase in bidders canceling their bids.  A word to the wise, I have started blocking any and all bidders who retract their bids regardless of the reason.

Please don’t bid unless you’re willing to honor your amount, okay? Thanks!

(Please note:  Regarding play-testing, my Technics turntable has somehow seized.  The tone arm is stuck in the up position, and I can’t get it to fully return to its cradle.  Is there anyone out there, who can tell me if this is an easy fix?  Thanks!)
