READ THIS! These records are NOT sold for perfect sound quality. They’re sold for their scarcity and VISUAL grading. They’ve been in storage for a decade, and they WILL play with surface noise that can be addressed with D4 or a VPI cleaning.  I can’t test-play at the minute. Please don’t bid if this is a problem for you.

Beatles LP Apple Meet the Beatles JAPAN RED VINYL Late 60’s Early 70’s, Strong VG!

No OBI, sorry!

Keeping in mind that VG doesn’t mean run over by a car, but still in one piece, this is still a very nice copy!

AND, it’s a completely different album to our “Meet the Beatles.”

Vinyl--- Strong VG, both sides.  There are definitely plenty of light scratches on both sides, but none of them are feelable, and none of them cross the line of angel hairs. 

Japanese red vinyl is famous for sounding far better than they appear!  Playback may be VG+ to Excellent.

Plates--- 2EJ-13-2S2-2/ OB/ OK./ 2EJ-14-2S2-5.  Both sides have the machine-stamped squiggle in a circle, which was in use from the late 60’s to the mid 70’s.

Cover--- VG.  General wear.  Full gloss on the front cover.  Back cover has the flaps from the late 60’s and into the early 70’s.  Flat, white cover has dirtwear.  Top seam has a one-inch split, spine has a one-eighth split.

Labels--- EX/VG.  Side 1 label looks very nearly new, just a few barely perceptible spindle marks.  Side 2 label has some pronounced foxing.

Lyric Sheet--- Nice VG.  Still very nice and flat.  Light foxing on both sides, light amount of finger divots.

Black Inner Sleeve--- VG.  Still a nice inner sleeve with the die-cut hole on one side. Has semi-gloss from the late 60’s.  70’s black sleeves had flat gloss until they switched to white paper sleeves. Has side seam splits.

A rice paper inner sleeve will be provided, so as not to damage your original black Apple inner sleeve en route.

As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up.  Thanks!)

(Please note:  Regarding play-testing, my Technics turntable has somehow seized.  The tone arm is stuck in the up position, and I can’t get it to fully return to its cradle.  Is there anyone out there, who can tell me if this is an easy fix?  Thanks!)
