The Beatles –Please Please Me – Genuine 1963 UK mono dating to mid 1963 with the ultra rare ZKT tax code. Parlophone rim labels and without ‘Sold in UK’ label text. Catalogue number PMC 1202.
As the focus for many collectors of original 1963 UK issues falls on the black gold labeled copies, the initial pressing run for what was the newly designed black yellow labels often gets overlooked. Here is a superb early example dating to 1963 in truly excellent to nr mint condition. This record has received only a minimum amount of plays in its 52 year history. Genuine 1963 copies of Please Please Me in this superb condition are now becoming increasingly rare.

Visual: EXC+ to MINT-
Superb vinyl which is unmarked in strong daylight even under a strong halogen desklight nothing much more is revealed other than the faintest of micro marks and whispy sleeve removal marks. The heavy duty disc lies 100% flat on the turntable.
Labels: EXCELLENT+
A great set of what was the new yellow & black Parlophone labels. There is some evidence of light spindle trails but the labels are fresh and unworn with no writing or personalization. Side one has the ultra rare ZKT tax code which is clearly visible.
Audio: EXCELLENT+
Excellent audio throughout with very little to fault and no unwanted surface noise. Virtually all gaps are silent. There record does not jump or stick and there are no loud pops or ticks.
Cover
EXCELLENT
A very well preserved original 1963 Garrod & Lofthouse cover. The front panel still retains its original freshness and has a solid feel and appearance. Difficult to fault the front panel other than the occasional light thumbnail. All corners are in great shape even the bottom right corner which always seems to be damaged on these covers has only the minimum of light wear. The rear panel is free from any writing and has only minimal signs of ageing. All flibacks are strong and intact. There is however a small repair to the flipback to the top left opening edge but this not particularly noticeable and is easily missed on first inspection. The writing on the spine is undamaged and clearly readable. Now very difficult to find in this condition.
