Much sought after 1st Pressing of this Beatles debut album here on the Scarce BLACK & GOLD Parlophone Label.     Original version with 'The Parlophone Co. Ltd' Label Text plus 'Dick James' Publishing Credits.      Original E.J. Day Flip Back Sleeve.

Vinyl: VG

 Condition is pretty good compared to most of these 44 year old copies. Each side has been cleaned with a high grade solution which has restored some of the Original sheen to the record.  There are naturally a few hairlines and surface scuffs to be expected but these have very little affect on Playback! (see below)

Labels: EX / EX

Without doubt, the best feature of this copy. Both sides are in Excellent Condition! Clean & almost Unmarked, No Writing, No Staining. Minimal Spindle wear, whilst the centre holes have not enlarged. The Label text has retained it's Bright Gold Colour whilst the Black Background is still dark and unfaded.

Sleeve: EX/VG-

Original E.J. Day Published Flip Back Sleeve - Front Laminated.  The Front Cover is in Great Condition with just mild creasing here and there. No Writing, No Staining or Damage, EX.    The Rear Cover is now a bit worn where the bottom 'flip' fastening has split. There is also a water mark near the opening. Otherwise Condition is OK with No Writing.   The Spine is Excellent and Unworn, VG-

Inner: EX-

Essential for a 1st Pressing, The 'EMITEX' Inner Sleeve has Original Heavy Printed Grey Text. Poly Inner bag is fully intact.

Playback: VG

Way up to standard for this Antique Press. As mentioned has some scuffs and yet plays Very Well. Each track is still pretty Clear and there are just 2 repeat clicks on the entire record, my deck is set to a very sensitive level so it may well be that yours plays through them OK. I think VG is a fair Audio assessment for this Scarce Pressing.

Very seldom seen Record with Great Labels. A must have Issue for the Beatles fan.

PLEASE READ FOLLOWING BEFORE BIDDING:

All records are visually graded as accurately as possible using 'Record Collector's grading system and with rarer items audibly graded.

To try and improve accuracy further, I will sometimes add + / - where condition is better or worse:

 MINT:The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or     deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records listed as unplayed should be mint.

 EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have some slight wear and/or creasing.

 VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items is acceptable.

 GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration etc

 I do not grade any items as 'Mint' unless New or 100% Flawless. Buyers who are familiar with my Listings will concur that I have a tendency to Under Grade. In general, items listed as EX or above will be of the required standard that Buyers expect.
