READ THIS! These records are NOT sold for perfect sound quality. They’re sold for their scarcity and VISUAL grading. They’ve been in storage for a decade, and they WILL play with surface noise that can be addressed with D4 or a VPI cleaning.  I can’t test-play at the minute. Please don’t bid if this is a problem for you.

So with that said…

Beatles LP The Early Beatles First Pressing Stereo Consignment 1965 in Shrink, NM!

As discussed in previous auctions, STEREO consignment pressings are much harder to find than their mono counterparts.  This copy was pressed by Columbia Records, and is in unplayed, NM-clean condition, still in the original shrinkwrap!

Vinyl--- NM/ NM.  Both sides look as though you went back to 1965 and watched some teenaged girl with a beehive and cat eye-rimmed glasses that John referred to as looking like a horse, pulling the record out of the cover for the first time.

Plates--- W6/ W6.  There are no traditional Capitol insignias in the dead waxes on either side.

Cover--- Excellent.  The shrinkwrap has a little dirtwear, but a quick test of pulling the shrink away from the cover reveals that it took 100% of the damage.  The cover beneath is nicely preserved, with the exceptions of some particles and smudges that have gotten trapped inside, and a little yellowing down the mouth of the back cover.

Breathe Holes--- There are two breathe holes on the front cover.  One is floating above Paul’s head, and the other is just below his chin.  Must be more “Paul is Dead” stuff.

Labels--- NM/ NM.  Thin concentric groove placed closer to the outer edge of the labels makes this copy pressed from Columbia lathes.  One very light spindle mark on the Side 1 label, none on the Side 2 label.  Stunning full-gloss!

Capitol Inner Sleeve--- Stunning NM.  The original burnt orange Capitol inner sleeve is present.  Looks like it was just printed this afternoon.  Sleeve lies perfectly flat.  Slight wrinkling from improper insertion into the cover from the factory really is minimal!  Razor-sharp seams and corners, NO SPLITS.

A generic inner sleeve will be provided, so as not to damage your original Capitol inner sleeve en route.

RIAA: None.

As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up.  Thanks!)

Note:  All LP’s ship outside of their album covers in order not to damage the covers during shipment.

CAUTION!  There has been a startling increase in bidders canceling their bids.  A word to the wise, I have started blocking any and all bidders who retract their bids regardless of the reason.

Please don’t bid unless you’re willing to honor your amount, okay? Thanks!

(Please note:  Regarding play-testing, my Technics turntable has somehow seized.  The tone arm is stuck in the up position, and I can’t get it to fully return to its cradle.  Is there anyone out there, who can tell me if this is an easy fix?  Thanks!)
