THE BEATLES - 'LOVE ME DO'/'P.S. I LOVE YOU'
This fine 1962 1st pressing of The Beatles' debut 45 is on the red & silver Parlophone label: 45-R4949
Both bear the 'Ardmore & Beechwood' publishing credit but omit the & 'Made in Gt. Britain' text.
A 'ZT' purchase tax code is visible in the centre of the 'Love Me Do' label & in both run-outs.
This disc is housed within its original 1st type green & white Parlophone company cover with the word 'Industries' misprinted as 'Instruments' on the rear panel as illustrated in the final image right.

A spectacular, clean & vibrant set as you can see, which bear just a handful of light spindle trails to around the side 1 centre hole, but none on 1.
Visual: EXCELLENT
Both playing surfaces are extremely clean and glossy and retain all of their 'as new' deep-gloss shines. Both are also free from any noticeable surface marks or scratches, revealing only some harmless light marks consistent with sleeve removal and careful play and certainly nothing I would call a scratch. wispy paper-type hairlines directly beneath my powerful halogen desk lamp. Both sides of this super copy lie 100% flat on the turntable.
Play: VERY GOOD +
This copy has clearly only received a small amount of careful play. The bass especially is deep and impressive and the high frequencies of John's harmonica shine throughout. There is some light background on this copy which is audible in the background of both songs but does not, in my opinion, spoil the overall enjoyment of the songs. There are no clicks, pops or any other such audible distraction on either side.
