THE BEATLES - 'PLEASE, PLEASE ME'
This early UK 1st mono pressing of their debut album dates from initial March 1963 release on the black & gold Parlophone label: PMC 1202
Both labels include the initial 'Dick James Mus Co.' credits for tracks 1 & 2 on side 1 and 4 & 6 on side 2.
A 'KT' purchase tax code is present in the centre of the side 1 label.
Matrices: XEX 421-1N & XEX 422-1N
Stamper codes: 2/GM & 1/GA
Vinyl weight: 176g
Housed in a correct, early front laminated, tri-flipback 'Ernest J. Day' printed mono cover, with the 'Angus McBean' credit in the extreme lower left corner.
Complete with original 'Use Emitex...' poly-lined inner-sleeve.
CONDITION
DiscLabels: VERY GOOD
A presentable pair with the only significant blemish being a scratch on the side 1 tracklisting.
Visual/Audio: FAIR
Unfortunately, this copy has not been looked after very well as both sides bear numerous turntable-like scuffs and scratches, a couple of which are feelable. There were several points on side one where our stylus stuck on the grooves, so don't expect a good playing copy.
Cover: VERY GOOD
A respectable, fully intact example with a clean front panel bearing light storage rubbing only. There is some wear to each corner but both opening edges are undamaged. The exposed rear panel is clean overall with slight toning towards the opening edge, but no writing or missing paper. All of the delicate flipbacks are in-place and both seams and the spine are unsplit.
Inner-sleeve: VERY GOOD
