Description

THE BEATLES 'PLEASE PLEASE ME' 1963 BLACK AND GOLD LABEL 'MONO' LP

DICK JAMES LABELS

This album was bought in 1963 and I have owned it since new. It is the Parlophone black and gold label PMC 1202 and has the Dick James credits throughout. No mention of Northern Songs. Matrix numbers are XEX.421 and XEX.422. Cover photo is attributed to Angus McBean. It comes with the original 'Use Emitex' poly-lined inner sleeve.

As you can see from the photos the cover is in good condition considering its age. The sleeve is worn at the edges where the record has been put in and out and transparent tape has been used to secure two edges on the back which has discoloured.

The inner sleeve has two small tears at the centre and has some stains on one side but apart from that it is in good condition.

The album itself plays well without distortion and no jumps or major clicks. When it is held to the light there are surface scratches but these do not affect the playing quality. The disc is not warped and lays flat on the turntable.

I would assess the condition of the disc as very good and the cover good.
