Description

The Beatles - Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band
The Beatles - Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band
This exceptional 'final upgrade' example of the Beatles eighth studio album is a MONO UK 1st pressing on the much sought after yellow and black Parlophone label.
The vinyl is housed within the fully-laminated Garrod & Lofthouse gatefold sleeve which features a very desirable WIDE SPINE. Unlike many examples of this sleeve variant, the wide spine is found in fantastic condition.
The album comes complete with the original red and white wavy psychedelic inner sleeve designed by The Fool art collective and the cut-out insert sheet designed by Peter Blake.
Serial number: PMC 7027
Matrix number: XEX 637 - 1 / XEX 638 - 1
Mother & stamper codes: 2 MGA / t AHL
Vinyl Weight: 170g

Condition:
Vinyl: EXCELLENT +
Labels: EXCELLENT +
The labels are bright, clean and without writing. Only very light spindle marks can be seen to both sides.
Visual: EXCELLENT +
The record displays superb, 'factory-fresh' deep-gloss playing surfaces. Only a couple of light paper scuffs can be seen in bright daylight to either side. Underneath the haze of a halogen desk lamp a few barely visible wispy paper hairlines can be seen alongside a sparkling rainbow shine.
Sound Quality: EXCELLENT
The audio is fantastic. This copy has clearly cautiously on good quality equipment. There are quiet lead-ins to both sides and minimal static in between tracks. There is great channel separation, clear vocals and punchy bass. 'Because' and 'Here Comes the Sun' both play without any static. They are beautiful! You will not need to look for another copy of this fantastic record.
Sleeve: EXCELLENT +
The iconic sleeve looks superb! The wide spine really makes the sleeve stand out. All four sides retain the original lustre and bright colours. The top and bottom edges are without wear. The opening edge is without wear. The 'pinched' spine is without any wear.
Inner Sleeve: EXCELLENT +
The original inner sleeve is in great condition. The colours are bright and there is minimal discolouration to the white section. The cutout insert is in perfect condition. The vinyl is housed inside an audiophile quality, anti-static inner sleeve to help protect and preserve the record and inner sleeve.

The record will be sent via an insured courier in a padded vinyl mailer. Non-EU international bidders please get in touch for an accurate postage cost if you do not want to ship with the GSP.

** PLEASE NOTE ** This album does not contain either 'Because' or 'Here Comes the Sun'. I made an error when uploading the description (they're written on Microsoft word and then copy and pasted over). The album does play beautifully, however. Thankfully the MONO play-back doesn't have any channel separation - the bass is punchy, though and the vocals, treble and highs all distinct and clear. There is the odd light static crackle in 'She's Leaving Home' but nothing at all that distracts from the record and may well disappear after an ultrasonic clean (getting one delivered this week!). In my opinion the early mono pressing is the best vinyl reproduction of this record and in this condition it sounds simply superb - a true pleasure to listen to.
