The Beatles - "The Beatles" (White Album)
Capitol Records SWBO-101 | 2LP, Stereo, Gatefold 1983 US REISSUE - Jacksonville Pressing with Winchester Metalwork Capitol Rainbow/Colorband Labels (Discogs: r8472185)
The legendary double album - 30 songs spanning avant-garde experimentation, hard rock, acoustic ballads, music hall pastiche, and the blues. From "Back in the U.S.S.R." to "Good Night," the White Album remains the Beatles' most ambitious work.
THIS COPY'S HIGHLIGHT: PRISTINE INSERTS The included inserts are PRISTINE and UNTOUCHED:
- POSTER: Richard Hamilton's collage (22" x 33") with lyrics on reverse - excellent condition, no pinholes, no tears, fold lines only - 4 PORTRAIT PHOTOS: All four individual Beatles portraits in pristine condition - still all attached, never pinned, no tack holes, no creases, sharp corners
These inserts are increasingly difficult to find in this condition. Most surviving copies have portraits with holes from decades of bedroom wall display.
PRESSING DETAILS: This 1983 reissue is well-regarded by collectors for its sound quality. Capitol rainbow/colorband labels with "Recorded in England." Jacksonville pressing using Winchester metalwork.
- "MASTERED BY CAPITOL" stamped in dead wax - Mastering engineers: Gene (Sides 1-2), Jay (Sides 3-4) - Winchester symbol (some scratched out, indicating Jacksonville pressing from Winchester plates)
