This truely EXCELLENT & rare 1969 1st UK MONO pressing is on the dark green Apple label: PMC 7070

Both labels include the 'Sold in UK..' text but there is no purchase tax code on either label.

It is housed within an early-type front laminated, tri-flipback 'Garrod & Lofthouse ' printed mono cover with red lines on the rear panel, but no printer's credit on the lower flipback.

Complete with its original matt black, die-cut inner-sleeve.

A pristine, unworn pair with just a few barely visible tiny spindle trails around the side 2 centre hole only.

Visual: EXCELLENT +

Immaculate, deep-gloss playing surfaces which shine 'as new' in strong daylight where the only visual blemishes are some faint inner-sleeve removal marks on side 2 and a tiny pin-head sized white mark in the vinyl itself on the final track on side 1 which is visible in the top image in the 11 o'clock position. Close & careful examination directly beneath halogen desk lamp reveals nothing more than a sparkling rainbow shine and a few barely visible wispy paper hairlines. Both sides of this superb copy lie 100% flat on the turntable when playing, with no traces of dishing or warping.

Play: EXCELLENT

This rarely but carefully played copy delivers a big mono sound throughout with no significant deterioration to the sound quality or indeed any major faults. My single careful play-check at volume found the most often played track - 'Yellow Submarine', is crackle-free but has a touch of peakwear to the final chorus. Other easily worn flashpoints such as the introduction to 'Only A Northern Song' is unworn and without any break up due to groove-wear. The aforementioned mark causes two soft 'pops' on 'All You Need Is Love' and without this I would have been happy to grade EX+. The delicate orchestral suite plays without any audible faults or wear throughout.

EXCELLENT

A vivid & vibrant example with a vibrant & glossy front panel laminate which bears just asingle tiny 'thumbnail' towards the opening edge and a few to the spine but no other significant signs of wear. There is a bump to the upper left corner but no issues to the others. There is a hint of wear to the front opening edge but no tears or feathering to either. The exposed rear panel is extremely clean & white with just a few faint handling blemishes but certainly no writing or missing paper. All flipbacks are perfectly clean & undamaged and both seams and the fully worded spine are smooth, unstressed and completely unworn.

Inner-sleeve

A superb unworn example with just an unavoidable faint disc impression, but no tears or splits to any seam.
