Description
Beethoven Violin Sonata 9 Gioconda de Vito Aust HMV OALP 1319 RARE
The great Italian violinist Gioconda de Vito, with Tito Aprea performs the Beethoven “Violin Sonata No. 9” on this extremely rare record. An original Australian mono pressing on the HMV Label (OALP 1319), the labels are red and gold with a large fan shaped dog logo and this is a pancake pressing. Side two has a sample Record sticker. The record is a little worn with some scratches half-way through side one and a number of small pressing dimples. The scratches cause 10 to 12 quite loud double clicks and the pressing faults are the cause of a few loud or double clicks. Otherwise the record is of excellent appearance and plays and sounds superb occasional surface noise. The recording is very good and the playing – of course – is effortlessly elegant. The cover has rubbed with a ring and other minor wear.
