Description
We have here a blues recorded on 8 and 15 May 1929. Bessie is accompanied by on "Kitchen Man" by Ed Allen clarinet, Cyrus St Clair Brass bass, Clarence Williams piano, Gavin bushel alto sax, Arville Harris Tenor Sax and on "I got what it takes" by Clarence Williams and Eddie Lang guitar. Both tracks are rather vaudeville but very enjoyable nevertheless. Plays loud and clear, light background noise but no distortion and good fidelity at about VG++ for "Kitchen Man" and VG+ for "I got what it takes". This is an very rare record in any condition and expensive in better grades, but this copy plays well , far better than appearance which is about VG. There is some dull shine. Another disc showing the Columbia magic resistance to wear! There is an edge chip on "Kitchen Man" to grooves but does not affect play (see photo).
