Blue Ridge Mountain Singers Columbia 15580-D Give My Love to Nell / The Letter That Never Came Recorded April 21st, 1930 Atlanta, Georgia A-1 stampers
The record has lots of remaining gloss with some scratches and scuffs due to age. It plays through with just slightly more wear on the "Nell" side. The label on the "Nell" side has some small scuffs. Inspect photos closely. These Columbia Viva-tonal pressings play so well. It's a lovely example of a record that had most likely quite low pressing numbers. Scarce early American music!
This is a depression-era recording featuring vocal harmonies with autoharp and guitar accompaniment in the style of the Carter Family. It's a beautiful, rare early country recording from a family band made up of Fred Barrett, Amy Barrett and Vella Barrett.
