Description
Original 1975 stereo pressing of Paunetto’s Point by vibraphonist and Latin jazz innovator Bobby Paunetto, released on Pathfinder Records (LP 1775). A rare and genre-bending fusion of Latin jazz, soul-jazz, and funk, recorded at Bell Sound Studios in NYC and packed with top-tier players including Tom Harrell, Ron Cuber, Todd Anderson, and Andy Gonzalez.
The LP includes standout arrangements like the funky “Fenway Funk,” moody “Osiris,” and the soulful, cha-cha-inspired “Heavy On Dee Bacon.” Rich in solos, tight horn sections, and layered percussion, it’s a masterpiece of ‘70s Latin fusion. For fans of Cal Tjader, Willie Bobo, and Fania All-Stars with an experimental twist.
Hard to find in the original gatefold format. A cornerstone for collectors of Latin jazz, funk fusion, and rare groove vinyl.
