Buddy Smith 45 titled "When you Lose the one you Love/You get What you Deserve"; Brute BR 002, 1960s. Both sides sound in NM condition (I test-played the record entirely). This is a re-listing of the same record that sold on Jan. 7. Immediately after the auction, the winner notified me, opting not to buy it, and the 45 never left my possession. I played both sides again a few hours ago and I reaffirm its sound quality -- this is a VERY clean-sounding record. Visually, there are two nicks on the outside edge of the wax ring play-in, and a hairline fracture in the playing surface that does not affect the sound of the music. There are also scuffs on both sides, with more showing on the slow side ("When you Lose...") than on "... Deserve." These scuffs are not massive in quantity, and the record still has a recently-bought look about it -- shiny.  Please message me if you want any more details about the condition of this record.

This item belonged to a former employee of the Columbia Records pressing plant in my home city of Terre Haute, Indiana, who worked on the Columbia record production line in the 1960s and '70s. Most (or all) of the wear on these records, if there is any, is storage-related, and not from play.

Sound-grade definitions: NM (near mint) -- little or no surface noise. VG+ (very good plus) -- surface noise, but does not interfere with the enjoyment of the track. VG (very good) -- surface noise that is noticeable and whether or not it interferes with the enjoyment of the record depends on your level of tolerance. G (good) -- noticeable surface noise, at least some of which interferes with the enjoyment of the song. I will never list a record on eBay that skips or catches without noting that flaw in the description.

This is my ONLY copy of this 45.

I have had questions about the "hairline fracture" so I will elaborate here. The record is not cracked. This is a stress fracture, a threadlike-thin line running across the playing surface that has no effect on the sound and will not have any effect on this 45's durability, unless you plan on repeatedly dropping it onto the floor.
