Description
(NB: I'm using part of a previous description from an eBay sale, as it saves writing it myself! - this is a different copy though...)
As the title says. Mega rare Australian LP pressed on the JAM label from Gosford. Carlton were a band from Cowra in the central west of NSW and developed a solid reputation in the early to mid 70's as a live outfit which led them to cutting this LP. Very hard to find too- for whatever reason it never sold well which is a shame as tracks like "Come On Over" show a hard rock/krautrock edge to rival the best bands around at the time. Pretty much most of side one is terrific.
All originals, except for a cover of The Master's Apprentices' classic "Turn Up Your Radio".
The lead singer sounds similar to Jack Bruce in places, and the musicianship is tight. They knew what they were doing when they made this but sadly this appears to be the only release from the band. The songs slow down a little on side 2 but it's still good at worst.
The cover has some small laminate bubbling (common to a lot of Aussie records from the time), ring wear and general wear. Graded VG+, the record plays VG with some light noise and crackle throughout but is somewhat inaudible over the music. There is light overall marking on the vinyl. The labels are clean and show virtually no indication of spindle wear.
Get it while you can as it pretty much never shows up for sale in any condition!
