Description

The Golliwogs  "Pre-Creedence"

This is an original US vinyl pressing on Fantasy 9474  from 1975.    This is Creedence Clearwater Revival's early songs recorded under the name 'The Golliwogs'.        This is a stereo promo copy.      It's pressed on flexible vinyl.   The labels are brown, with 'Promotional Only Not For Sale' printed at the top.      The cover has a cut corner at top right, which is the only promotional marking.  The matrix numbers are hand etched : F-9474-A and F-9474-B.      Fantasy Records has finally put  'side 1' or 'side 2' on their labels.

The Golliwogs are the same four members that later changed their name to Creedence Clearwater Revival.    This is a compilation of all the songs they released on their seven singles.   Their singles were on Fantasy and Scorpio.    They never made an original album.   Tom Fogerty sings lead vocal on eight songs.    John Fogerty sings lead vocal on six songs.     This is MUST HAVE music if you like Creedence.

Overall Condition : Cover : M- / Record : M-

The cover is near Mint with no writing and no seam splits.   There is a hint of ring wear and the top right corner is cut.    The vinyl looks near mint and it plays near mint.    There is one light scuff on side two that can be seen, but not heard.    The labels are clean with no spindle marks.  The record comes in a plain white inner sleeve.

The songs are : Lookin' For A Reason, Take It Like A Friend, Need Someone To Hold, Tearin' Up The Country, Someday Never Comes, What Are You Gonna Do, Sail Away, Hello Mary Lou, Door to Door, and Sweet Hitch-Hiker.

About Me :

I started collecting records in 1966.     I started selling in Goldmine in 1985.      I now sell records at all Northwest record conventions : Portland, Seattle, Tacoma, Eugene, Grants Pass, and Canby.       And at Crossroads Music in Portland, Oregon.     My records are from a no smoking and no pets home.

Packaging :

I take great care on every package and I do each one personally.     I will package this record between two pieces of hand cut cardboard.     Each piece is 1/2 inch thick, triple strength industrial cardboard.       Together they are very strong and unbendable.   ( Even the postmen comment on how strong this cardboard is ! )       I always remove the record from the cover and seal them in a clear plastic sleeve.     The package will be marked in red : "Fragile Record" on both sides.

Postage :  Weight : 1 pound 5 ounces

You have to pay for the postage.     I pre-weigh every record, so that you pay the exact amount the post office charges.   There are no handling charges.     This record will weigh 21 ounces ( 1 pound, 5 ounces ) when ready to ship.   US bidders can figure out your own postage costs for US Priority or Media Mail.    All US winners will get shipping through Paypal and an automatic email with the tracking number.      Overseas bidders must use First Class Mail International.    You will get an automatic email with the customs/tracking number.      ( Buyers from Brazil must assume all risks for shipping to their country. )      I will send your record as soon as you pay ( same day if before 2 PM and next day if after 2 PM : Monday thru Saturday)   I will combine shipping if you win more than one record.      Please wait for me to send you an invoice for all of your records in one package.

Serious Bidders Only :

Serious bidders only.    If you bid you must be prepared to honor your bid.     I expect payment within three days, but will wait up to seven days, if you contact me.      I no longer accept bids from buyers with more than two strikes against them.
