Description
CHARLIE PARKER & MILES DAVIS & HOWARD McGHEE "CHARLIE PARKER SEPTET & QUINTET" 10" mono lp on Dial 201 US issue 1949 G/NO COVER. I would grade this lp: G grading: I am an audio grader. I grade everything below a VG+ off a VG+. In other words a VG would be an lp that plays 50% or more in the VG+ range and is subject to snap crackle surface type noise. A G+ would play less than 50% VG+ and might be subject to light pops as well. A G would be subject to more severe problems but would still play through without skips or stalls. I will only list G graded vinyl of the rare 50’s or 10” 33 1/3 category. No lps with skips will knowingly be put at auction. This has some noisy moments the worst being right out of the blocks trk. 1 sd. 1. But it plays through and is still a decent listen. I had never even seen one of these before. It's an ugly label in my opinion but they are some of the most valuable Jazz records. McGhee is on the Quintet side and Miles Davis is on the Septet side. I recently came across some very rare 10” lps that were stored in a record album and had no covers. None of them are in prime condition but all play through without skips (I have a Linn turntable that tracks pretty light). Included was a rare Charlie Parker Dial and an even rarer “SAMPLE COPY” Decca Jay Mcshann which is listed in Goldmine as the Mcshann unit that had a very young Charlie Parker in the band. Once again none of these have covers and will be shipped in the inner sleeve shown in the pictures with a poly protector inside of a generic white lp jacket. If you have any questions contact me.
