The Checkerboard Squares ` "Double Cookin'" / " A Day in Sausalito"  VILLA 705
This legendary SF Bay Area single is arguably the most desired Northern Soul instrumental of all time.  The epitome of a dance floor filler, a stomper for the ages. One of them most iconic tunes of the Wigan Casino all-nighters.  It has a re-christening by the notorious Simon Soussan as "Bob Wilson -Strings a Go-Go" and that's what many knew the tune as back in the day. Needless to say and all time classic.
This one doesn't appear too often and almost never in such superlative condition. the original copies of this single that show up on occasion have a "bb hole" drilled thru the labels and are of course in quite "loved", i.e. well played condition.  This copy was in a cache of undistributed promotional 45s that have never been played and are in pristine condition. i rate this 45 in NM as there was an small "x" written on the " A Day in Sausalito" side as that was that was the song to be "plugged". that and there is a light trace of rubbing wear to the label. Otherwise it looks as new as the day it was pressed in 1966.
and this is the ORIGINAL PRESSING, not the later repro. If you zoom in on the photos you can see the matrix etchings and stamp.
